The new app Paddle Logger developed by David Walker is for all water men and women. It provides the functionality you need to record your journeys and track your goals, incorporated into a simple, accessible piece of software. Whether you want to record your first time on the water or you are in training for an event, Paddle Logger is for you! Whatever your craft – SUP, Kayak, Canoe, Prone Paddle board. You can even use it sailing or swimming! Thousands of athletes and adventurers all over the world track their journeys with Paddle Logger, including UK paddler Aaron Rowe who explains to TotalSUP why using Paddle Logger is so integral to his training.
Hi Aaron, Can you explain why you like using paddle logger?
I enjoy using paddle logger to log my training as it allows me to keep a log of all my sessions on my iPhone. I have been using it for 2 years. Considering how much we use our iPhones nowadays, the iphone is the best place to store all the information that I have recorded. I also like to take out my iphone and the paddle logger on fun paddles especially when I take friends out so I can show them the route of our trip, which I can share to them easily via social media.
Is it easy to use?
Absolutely I love the simplicity of just being able to click and go. I also like that you can delay the start so it gives me time to put my phone away. I use it with my phone as that way I have my phone on me as a safety back up. It has been designed to cater for all my tracking needs without being over complicated, leaving me more time to concentrate and enjoy being on the water. The large start/stop button with a unique – delay, stow, and go – means you can start your trip and then safely stow your phone.
Has it enhanced your training?
The fact I can track all my training sessions on my phone makes it a lot easier to see improvements and then structure my next training session.
Are your competition performances better due to Paddle Logger?
Well I’d say I’ve had some excellent results whilst using it. One of which includes winning both qualifying races so I can represent Great Britain in China this November at the ISA world stand up and paddle board championships. Paddle Logger has helped me so much that I have recommended it to some of my good friends in Australia, who have been using it to track their training and fun paddles.
Are you excited about the next version release?
I’ve been helping the guys at paddle logger out by testing the new version and I can’t wait to share it with you all. The new version will be released soon!
Paddle Logger is available for all in the apple store. Developed in order to get out on the water and have fun paddling! After you have purchased it remember to share your adventure on Social Media with #paddlelogger to get your trip featured globally!
