In the months leading up to its official release, the all-new Starboard TwinFin SUP surf boardwas already sparking both hype and interest. More than 150 paddlers from 31 countries registered for early access, eager to be among the first to experience it.
The standout favourite? The8’3” x 30” 125L Acute Carbon, the most requested model, generating serious demand worldwide.
Available in both Acute Carbon and Limited Series, Starboard TwinFin was developed to empower intermediate riders to push harder turns while offering advanced surfers a high-performance, fluid ride.

The TwinFin is best for smaller, weaker waves, letting intermediate surfers perform more radically with less technique. It stays lively throughout the wave, generating easy speed and quick recoveries. Despite its small-wave focus, it can handle well overhead surf, pumping off the bottom and racing sections.

Compared to the Starboard Spice and Pro models, the TwinFin is looser and unlocks speed faster. The Pro remains the high-performance choice in bigger, critical conditions, delivering top hold and control. The Spice offers versatility with quad or thruster setups, featuring bevelled rails for smooth rail-to-rail transitions and added hold. The TwinFin complements but doesn’t replace either, appealing to those seeking relaxed lines, high-speed arcs, and tail slide turns.
Its unique outline and fin configuration let you carve, slide, and connect manoeuvres with ease, while still offering control and predictability for more powerful conditions.
Key Features:
Speed & flow: A refined channel and reduced drag deliver fast down-the-line acceleration, even through weaker sections
Turns & looser feel: The hip and moon tail create a pivot point for sharp pivots, tail slides, and a surf-skate-inspired ride
Pronounced hip & moon tail: A break just behind the fins narrows the tail for tighter, snappier turns with control
Channel tail release: Adds lift and drive while expanding the sweet spot—perfect for front- and back-foot surfers
Fine rails to the tail: Thinner rails at the tail boost agility, while fuller nose rails drive you forward with less effort
Domed or flatter decks: Smaller sizes feature domed decks for responsiveness; wider models have flatter decks for comfort and stability
Twinz fin setup: Twin fins reduce drag and add speed while staying loose. Add a nubster fin for extra bite in bigger surf
All-level versatility: Ideal for small waves with easy speed and flow, but confident in overhead surf when it counts.
