The SUP 11-City Tour is an annual stand-up paddle (SUP) event that offers participants a unique opportunity to traverse the historic waterways of Friesland, Netherlands, passing through eleven iconic cities over a distance of approximately 220 kilometers. The 2026 edition presents various formats to cater to both recreational paddlers and competitive athletes.

Are you up for the ultimate challenge? Join the SUP 11-City Tour and experience the rush of paddling 220 kilometers (136 miles) in just five days, facing varying weather conditions from calm and sunny to cold, rainy, and stormy.
But that’s not all! The SUP 11-City Tour is also an incredible opportunity to explore the northern province of The Netherlands, Friesland, from the water. Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of open fields dotted with windmills, cows, and sheep, as well as the chance to visit eleven historical cities built since 1700.
Since 2009, participants have followed the original waterways where ice skaters once conquered this historic tour on frozen waters. Now it’s your turn to make history and experience the same thrill on a stand-up paddleboard.

The event was born from the vision of Anne-Marie Valeria Reichman, a former professional windsurfer, who fell in love with SUP on Maui, Hawaii. She brought the sport back to her home in Friesland and set out to promote it to the world by paddling the original ice-skating “Eleven city Tour” in 38 hours. From that moment, the SUP 11-City Tour has grown each year and is now a truly international event with participants from all over the world.
