City Paddle Festival due to take place in New York has multiple opportunities to get wet and get noticed! with amateur and ProAm Divisions announced. From the 15th to the 23rd September, the NY SUP Open, Stop #2 on the APP World Tour, will offer the best of World Title competition, plus multiple ways to get YOU involved, in and out of the water.
We all know by now that the NY SUP Open offers 100 ProAM & Amateur padders the once-in-a-lifetime bucket list opportunity to race around the Statue of Liberty in the famed APP World Tour’s City Race here in New York.
That action starts on the 15th September. Paddlers will launch from in front of Brookfield Place, at North Cove Marina in Battery Park. This arena invites onlookers to view the course in its entirety and sits under the Freedom Tower, making this course one of the most historic in SUP racing history.
NY SUP Open includes Community Paddle to support children with special needs
Join the App Tour event on Saturday, 22nd September at 4PM for an opportunity to help others. Together with Skudin Surf, the APP World Tour is proud to host a special 9 kilometer downwind excursion led by pro athletes to raise funds for Surf for All.
Surf for All is a non-profit organization attributed to Skudin Surf where children with autism, Down’s Syndrome and special needs are offered life-changing experiences through surf therapy.  Skudin Surf is led by legendary big wave surfer Will Skudin and his brother Cliff. Together, these two have created a rare opportunity for children with special needs.
Surf therapy has been researched as a way to touch children with varying disabilities and Skudin Surf holds weekly camps all summer in Long Beach in order to serve as many children in the New York area as possible.
Entry fee for Surf for All downwinder is $85 and includes a downwind experience you won’t forget. Paddlers will launch from Ted’s Fishing Station Restaurant at 143 Bayside Drive, Point Lookout NY 11569 and paddle with the wind at their back to the APP World Tour Competition site at the end of Riverside Blvd in Long Beach. A shuttle is provided for downwind participants to bring them back to Ted’s Fishing Station where Skudin Surf will host an epic after-party. Party includes a 2.5hr open bar, buffet and live music on the beach.

City Paddle Festival moves to Long Beach, NY on the 18th Sept for a week of Competition, Inspiration and Action on the Boardwalk!
The Long Beach location will host Sprint Races and Surf Competition as well as a packed vendor village along its Board Walk, fun activities for the entire family and chances to meet the Pros. Get involved! Starting on Tuesday, 18th September the City Paddle Festivals will relocate to Long Beach, New York for the Sprint racing and Surf competition of the NY SUP Open.
Line up on the sand to test your metal on the same course as Connor Baxter and Michael Booth. Enter the Sprint Races through the City Paddle Festivals website and join the action on Sprint Day (Tuesday) to see where you stack up. This 200 meter course will take you out through the surf break, around several buoys and back. Action packed excitement for everyone from kids to adults.

APP offers ProAms chance to surf Final Rounds with World Title Contenders in Long Beach!
The APP World Surfing Tour has announced the Open Trials event and Wild Card process for every stop on the Surfing World Tour. Pro Amateur Competitors now have the opportunity to compete alongside legends by working their way through the Pro Am competitive rounds. The Top 2 Men and Top 2 Women from the Pro Am divisions will fill out the Final Draw at each stop.
Wild Cards will also be drawn from each local district, including New York, Gran Canaria and Oahu to compete on the Pro level. If you are interested in submitting your name for this process, please email:  entry@appworldtour.com
