Aloha Spirit Festival 2016 – That’s How The Brazilians Do it

Last weekend, the island of Ilhabela in the Sao Paulo Region, Brazil, received the largest water sports event in Latin America, the Aloha Spirit Festival.

The event, which has been traditionally built around Stand Up Paddle and Hawaiian Canoe races, saw the addition this year of swimming, apnea and waterman challenge events.

Professional and amateur athletes offered major battles on the beautiful beach of Pereque on the north side of the Island for a large crowd to see.

The Aloha Spirit Festival is a three-stop water sport circuit and the expectation for this year’s next editions is huge after the success of Ilhabela! In July the event will take place in Paraty near Rio de Janeiro and in September, Porto Seguro (BA), will close the circuit.

Here is a superb video recap of the event!
