Isla Cristina, host of the next stop of the European SUP League on 5-6 September, offers something beyond the spectacle of an international race. There is a particular weight to generational watersport stories rooted in home waters – families who grow up on the same coastline, sharing sessions, competitions and a deep connection to the […]
We’ve been witnessing a growing maturity and ambition among the next generation of SUP athletes. Young paddlers are no longer simply choosing between flat water and open sea – they are becoming true all-rounders, moving confidently between disciplines while increasingly taking on the sport’s toughest formats. More importantly, they are showing the maturity to understand […]
The 9th edition of Planet Baltic, the country’s longest-running ocean SUP race and one of the few remaining major sea-racing events in Northern Europe, wrapped up last week – but its ripple effect is still being felt across the SUP community. What began more than a decade ago as a grassroots race organised by a passionate local crew has grown into one of Europe’s largest SUP gatherings. Now, the SUP Race Lignano is entering a new chapter. For Isla Cristina, hosting the next stop of the European SUP League on 5-6 September is about more than simply staging an international race. It is an opportunity to showcase a town where the sea is deeply woven into its identity – and to introduce a new generation of paddlers to the next level of […]
