A new SUP product has just been launched:SUPfix is a modular system that allows to connect stand-up paddleboards (both inflatable and hard ones) in various configurations from single setups to tandems, trios, family-friendly arrangements and more. Users can relax and immerse themselves in the activity while seated comfortably in matching chairs, taking in the surrounding scenery.
Developed with the aim of bringing people together, SUPfix is an innovative system that is currently unique on the market. It is versatile and flexible, making it suitable for individuals as well as entire families with two or three children to spend a day on the water together.
TotalSUP caught up with Matthias WeĂler, CEO of SUPfix, to take a closer look at this new offering for recreational stand-up paddleboarding.
Hi Matthias, welcome to TotalSUP and congratulations on the launch! Could you tell us more about yourself and your brand?
Our company is based near Berlin an focuses on innovative accessories for stand-up paddleboards. Our mission is to revolutionize the paddleboarding experience with universal and versatile solutions.
Supfix allows users to connect SUPs in various ways, enabling flexible use casesâfrom yoga to family outing. We like to describe the experience as âhiking on water.â With SUPfix, you can enjoy hours-long trips on the water, whether as a catamaran, family board, or single board. The goal is to enjoy nature in a relaxed way, regardless of the season. Thanks to SUPfixâs stability, trips are possible even in cooler weather. Just dress warmly, wait for the Sun, and youâre good to go!
How did the idea for SUPfix come about?
The idea came from personal experience: my partner struggled to stand or kneel on a SUP for long periods due to physical limitations. This made us realize that paddleboarding is not equally accessible to everyone. We wanted to create a solution that not only enhances comfort and joy but also increases the versatility and usability of SUPs.
Did you notice a gap in the market?
Yes, we identified a clear gap in the market. There is no comparable accessory that is as universal flexible, and lightweight as SUPfix. We see significant potential, particularly in its versatility families or sports activities like yoga. SUPfix stands out with its lightweight design (less than 2 kg for the base units) and compact pack size.
The bases fit easily into a standard SUP bag, while the lightweight chair can be carried or attached to the bag. Many SUP owners want to use their board for more than just simple paddling. Couples and families, for instance, often want a shared experience without drifting apart constantly. With SUPfix, they can enjoy their time on the water together – whether paddling into a sunset or exploring nature.
What features make Supfix unique compared to other paddleboard accessories?
SUPfix stands out based on the following features:
Universal Compatibility: It is compatible with all SUP boards, regardless of brand or size
Versatility: SUPfix can be used in various configurationsâfrom single boards to tandem catamarans, trimarans, or family boards, and even for yoga applications. For yoga classes, SUPfix enables up to 20 boards to be connected in a circular formation, allowing the instructor to work optimally in the centre
Comfort and Safety: The included chairs provide comfortable seating, while the stable connection ensures a secure experience
Optional Electric Drive: With a battery life of 6â8 hours, users can effortlessly cover longer distances. Additionally, the system includes a USB-C port to charge devices like smartphones.
Can SUPfix be adapted to different board types and chair designs, and how easy is it to instal?
Yes, SUPfix is compatible with all board types, including hard boards. The specially designed chai even comes with an optional sunshade. The installation of SUPfix is particularly simple and can be completed within minutes, even on the water. The robust fiberglass rods reliably balance weight differences and wave movements, ensuring a stable and safe experience.
