Do you want to be part of a world record attempt? Organisers of the SUP 11-City-Tour are calling all paddlers old and new to the sport to help break the record for the most amount of paddle boards on the water! The current record is 844 paddlers set in Vladivostok Russia in September 2017. This attempt at the end of the SUP 11 City event will see 1000 SUPrs paddle a 3 km circuit on the Leeuwarden canals, the Cultural Capital of Europe! So grab all your friends, family and paddle buddies to help make it happen!

Marije Elgersma, one of the organisers of the 11-City told TotalSUP “Our dream is to break a world record and have 1000 paddlers on the canals on the final day in Leeuwarden, Holland”. Marije continues by adding “we are really trying to motivate all clubs, SUP schools and new paddlers to come to the event. It has been a great summer for paddling so this is the perfect way to end the summer, by breaking a world record!”
So how do you enter?
Grab your friends and enter on line, there are 2 options.
Option 1 – register for the record attempt only € 10,- (incl tee + 2 x drink coin), 3km. Enter below.
Option 2 – paddle the last stage of the SUP11 City Tour and also take part in the 3km record attempt route. Enter here.
The route is a circuit around the city of Leeuwarden, a city that can be accessed from all parts of Europe!
If you don’t own a SUP….
If you don’t have a SUP, you can hire a board for 5 euros, done via the online registration.
When will the attempt take place?
On Sunday 9th September, right after the final stage of the 11-city tour. The stage will finish and then everyone will stay on to complete the circuit around Leeuwarden. After the record attempt has happened there will be a big party to celebrate, with great music from the ‘Never Ending Ochestra’, which will be playing on board on a big fuller ship! This will generate an electrifying atmosphere!
