The European Surfing Federation, in collaboration with national federations, has announced the launch of the European SUP League (ESL), a new Stand Up Paddle racing circuit set to begin in 2025.
The league aims to provide a structured competition framework across multiple countries, with the goal of enhancing athlete participation, event organization, and overall visibility for the sport in Europe.
2025 European SUP League Season Overview
The inaugural season will begin with three events in Spain:
April 26-27 – Battle for Hercules, Benalmádena (Málaga)
Prize Money : 8,000€
May 1-4 – Triple S Festival, Melilla
Prize Money: 12,000€ + 2,000€
May 16-18 – World SUP Festival Costa Blanca, Santa Pola (Alicante)
Euro Tour Prize Money: 10,000€

A second phase of events is planned for Portugal and Italy in September and October, with further details yet to be announced.
Objectives and Impact of the European SUP League
According to organizers, the ESL is designed to connect athletes, event organizers, and federations under a unified structure. The initiative also emphasizes sustainability, with eco-friendly measures planned for each event. The league has been officially recognized by the European Surf Federation.
