Inflatable SUP Review: The Niphean 10’6″ Nails the TotalSUP Father-Son Test

It was one of those perfect latre Spring afternoons on Lac de Soustons, our home spot here at TotalSUP in the South West of France. Sunny skies, no wind, and a 9-year-old full of energy. Time to test gear! I had just received the inflatable all-round board Niphean 10’6″ (pronounced “NIGH-fee-en”) and with my son in tow, we decided to give it a real-world spin, father-son style. Known for their wide range of funky board designs and accessible pricing, Niphean sells mainly through Amazon, where they’ve built a strong reputation with an impressive 4.5 out of 5-star rating through 1000s of reviews, and also operate their own official online shop. Time to see if this all-in-one inflatable SUP kit lives up to the hype!

Lakeside Unboxing: Everything You Need to Hit the Water Instantly

The unboxing happened right there on the grass by the lake — no need to carry it in the backpack this time. And first impressions? Solid. Everything you need is packed in: paddle, leash, fins, pump, kayak seat, and — nice touch — a waterproof phone pouch that actually works! You don’t always get one of those in a SUP package, and it ended up being surprisingly useful.

Niphean 10’6″ – Cool Mint, Flamingo, or Turtle Paradise?

One thing that really sets the Niphean apart at first glance is its super fun line-up of funky color names. You don’t just get “blue” or “green” — you choose from styles like Turtle Paradise, Flamingo Revelry, Oceanic Sapphire, Classic Wood Grain, Summer Breeze, and our personal pick: the fresh, stylish Cool Mint Wood. It looked clean and bright out on the water, and I could already tell my son was feeling cool just standing next to it.

Quick Setup = More Time Paddling

Although the included manual pump would get you fully inflated in under 7 minutes, we cheated a little and used an electric pump. The board was ready to go in under 2 minutes with zero effort, and the EZ-Air SUP Valve made the job simple and foolproof. My son turned it into a race against the clock — and cheered when we beat his 120-second prediction. No sweat (literally), just fun.

On the Water – Room for Two and Then Some

Inflated to the full 15 PSI, the board felt super rigid. It handled my 84 kg plus my son’s 35 kg with ease — still stable, still floating high. The anti-slip deck pad was soft and grippy, giving us confidence whether standing, kneeling, or just lounging. We didn’t pack extra gear this time, but it’s clear you could easily bring along shoes, snacks, water bottles, or even a small dog. With 11 D-rings and dual bungee cords, the storage options are there when you need them.

The StabilTrac Fin and triple-fin system gave us straight tracking and a really relaxed cruising feel. It’s not a speed machine, but that’s not the point — this board is about fun, comfort, and versatility.

SUP, Sit, or Both – The Kayak Seat Rocks

One of the coolest features? The kayak seat. It clips onto the D-rings in seconds, and the included paddle converts into a double-blade kayak-style paddle. We both tried it and loved the change of position. It’s a great way to relax your legs, explore hands-free with your drink in the bungee, or just give your kid a new role as captain.

Accessories – Nothing Fancy, But All There

The adjustable paddle is a leisure model — floaty, light, and beginner-friendly. If you’re going for distance or training, you’ll eventually want to upgrade, but for casual paddling, it’s spot on. The portable backpack is functional, not flashy, but it’ll carry the full kit. Same for the leash, repair kit, and high-efficiency manual pump — all good enough to get you on the water safely.

Fast Delivery, Easy Returns, and a 3-Year Warranty

Buying online? Niphean makes it easy. The board ships free (on orders over €99), gets dispatched in 1–2 business days, and usually arrives within 3 to 5 days. If anything’s not quite right, you’ve got a 30-day hassle-free return window. And for peace of mind, the board comes with a 3-year limited warranty, which is more generous than many similarly priced boards on the market.

Niphean 10’6″ – What We Loved:

✅ Super stable — great for parent + kid
✅ Quick inflation – especially with an electric pump 🙂
✅ A large choice of fun, classy or funky color options — stand out on the water
✅ Kayak seat adds real versatility
✅ Functional extras like the waterproof phone pouch
✅ Great value for beginners or casual paddlers

What Could Be Improved:

➕ The paddle is fine for cruising, but sporty users will want to upgrade eventually
➕ Manual pump is effective — but after going electric, you might never go back

Final Verdict – Easy, Fun, and Adventure-Ready

The Niphean 10’6″ inflatable SUP is a family-friendly, all-ages, all-adventure kind of board. It’s not built for racing, but that’s not the goal. It’s built for weekend escapes, lake paddles, picnics on the water, and easy good times — solo, with kids, or even with your dog.

At around €300, it’s hard to argue with the value. You get a full accessory pack, fun design options, great stability, and the ability to paddle standing or sitting. It’s a board you’ll want to throw in the trunk every time the sun comes out.

Would I recommend it to someone buying their first board? Definitely.
Would I take it out again with my kid? Already planning it.
