As the SUP ALPS TROPHY / Paddelstadt Lake Rocks Festival returns to the stunning waters of Faaker See in Carinthia, Austria, get ready to watch all the action unfold LIVE from one of the most exciting weekends in stand up paddling. Taking place from 29 May – 1 June 2026, this iconic event is not only a premier stop on the SUP Alps Trophy and part of the prestigious ICF World Ranking Series, it has become the biggest “hard board” SUP race event in the world. The legendary long-distance race alone will bring together more than 300 competitors, including an incredible field of over 100 women, creating one of the deepest and most competitive race lineups ever assembled.
The men’s field is absolutely stacked. Leading the charge is 8-time world champion Shuri Araki, facing a world-class lineup that includes two-time Lake Rocks winner Donato Freens, Australian legend Michael Booth, and last year’s runner-up Normen Weber, hungry to climb one step higher. Spain arrives with two newly crowned 2025 world champions, Sergio Cantoral and Aaron Sanchez, while 17-year-old phenomenon Benyam Bossack continues his rapid rise against experienced champions including 40+ world title holders Joep Van Bakel and Manuel Lauble.
The women’s race promises just as much excitement. Two-time long-distance winner Esperanza Barreras returns to defend her status at a venue where she has already written history, while Cecilia Pampinella arrives in top form alongside Spain’s powerful Duna Gordillo. Watch also for Hungary’s rising sensation Csillag Kocsis, already a four-time junior world champion and one of the sport’s brightest young stars.
And beyond the established names, keep an eye on the next generation. A wave of fearless U18 underdogs in both the men’s and women’s races are ready to challenge expectations and shake up the leaderboard.
