This past weekend marked the holding of the 9th annual Big Bear PaddleFest, putting racers to the test once again at 6,700”ft elevation on Big Bear Lake. The day was broken down into multiple events — the main events being the 5k, 20k and 10k Elite (Salt Life Cup Points Race)
Racers were welcomed with perfect blue skies and 75 degree weather to start the day. As it hit time for the 10K race to start, the winds started to pick up, turning the course into a mix of a grueling up-wind, followed by a fun but also tricky down wind, making it a true “challenge the bear” experience. Scott Shoemaker took home the 20K, with an impressive time of 1:52:00, a solid 8 minutes in front of second place finisher Jordan Mckee.

It was also an impressive day for Team Infinity SUP, having multiple team racers podium throughout the three main events of the day, with riders Chance Fielder and
Kristin Thomas getting the overall wins in the 10K.
