Starboardhas shown us over the years that new launches usually come with a clear shift in direction. This time, the hints were subtle but noticeable – a hybrid dugout outline appearing in early previews, a few prototype shots circulating, and one question quietly surfacing among paddlers: are we done with blue?
The sneak peeks set the stage perfectly – something truly fresh was coming. Now, the wait is over. The brand-new Starboard All Star has arrived. Redesigned. Refined. Ready. Or shall we say… RED-Y?
What’s new?
Hybrid dugout design
Hybrid dugout design blends high rails in the standing for open ocean control with a flat deck tail for maximum stability in downwind, turning and surfing.
Thinner profile
The thinner profile reduces volume, cutting overall weight and minimizing wind resistance in side chop.
Rounder rails
Rounder rails in the nose more forgiving and easier to handle in the side chop and wind conditions.
Flat open tail
Flat open tail design creates a wider standing area giving more space for additional stability and control, when buoy turning, downwinding and surfing. The open tail improves drainage speed, flushing out water quickly and efficiently, reducing added water weight in the standing area.
