Le geste technique – Episode #3 | Positionner ses pieds en Stand Up Paddle : Basic Stance, Kung Fu Stance & Surf Stance
La position de vos pieds en stand up paddle est importante, cela a un impact direct sur l’équilibre et le contrôle de votre planche. Dans cet article, armé de ma board Fanatic, je vous donne quelques astuces pour bien positionner vos pieds.
Quand on parle de la position des pieds en stand up paddle, on parle de Stance. En Paddle on distingue trois types de stance: le Basic Stance, le Kung Fu Stance et le Surf Stance.
Le Basic Stance, c’est la position classique, vos pieds sont parallèles au milieu de la planche, écartés largeur de hanche ou d’épaule, de chaque côté de la poignée de votre planche. Vos pieds sont légèrement orientés vers l’extérieur et votre poids doit être reparti sur vos orteils afin d’alléger vos talons. C’est la position de base, une position plutôt confortable que l’on peut maintenir des heures. Malheureusement, le contrôle de l’assiette longitudinale (avant-arrière) est limité…
Le Kung Fu Stance, est une position intermédiaire, on partant de la position de base, on va venir reculer un pied dans l’axe. Cela vous permettra de mieux contrôler l’assiette longitudinal (avant-arrière) et latéral (droite-gauche) par rapport au Basic Stance. Cette position vous permettra d’attraper des bumps et de partir en surf plus rapidement. Une fois en surf, il vous sera plus facile de passer en Surf Stance pour piloter votre planche. En position Kung Fu, votre planche sera plus difficile à garder dans l’axe.
Le Surf Stance, c’est tout simplement la position surf, les pieds sont placés sur la ligne médiane, la ligne imaginaire qui coupe en deux votre planche. L’écartement de vos pieds devrait correspondre à la largeur de vos hanches. Si vous êtes débutant, vous devez d’abord découvrir si vous êtes «Regular » (pied gauche devant), ou « Goofy » (pied droit devant). Dans la plupart des cas, on place notre pied le plus « fort » à l’arrière de la planche (celui avec lequel on frappe un ballon de foot).
Le Surf Stance vous permettra de mieux contrôler votre planche dans les vagues en jouant sur l’appui talon-pointe, pour la direction et le transfert de poids avant-arrière selon si vous voulez accélérer ou freiner.
