The brand new European SUP League (ESL), in collaboration with the European Surfing Federation, has just announced that its 2025 inaugural season will conclude in Sesimbra (Portugal), on November 29–30 at the iconic Praia do Ouro.
This date adjustment follows the recent scheduling of the ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championship (November 10–15, El Salvador), which initially overlapped with the ESL Final. The new timing ensures that athletes can take part in both major international events, highlighting the ESL’s athlete-first philosophy and collaborative approach.
€8,000 in Prizes and Final Rankings
The Sesimbra showdown will feature a prize purse of €8,000 split equally between:
€4,000 for the winners of the final race
€4,000 for the top-ranked athletes in the 2025 Overall Standings
With international athletes heading to Portugal to secure or climb in the ESL rankings, the final promises to deliver world-class racing and thrilling competition.
A True European Journey
After three successful Spanish stops in Benalmádena, Melilla, and Santa Pola, the ESL has managed to establish itself as one of the strong platforms for Europe’s paddling community, combining technical racing, inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability. The Sesimbra final will celebrate not only sporting excellence but also the growth and cohesion of the European SUP scene.
TotalSUP on the Ground
As at the first three ESL stops, TotalSUP will act as on-site media partner and I will be bringing livestream moderation, behind-the-scenes interviews, and exclusive action coverage to make sure fans worldwide don’t miss a moment of this season finale.
Registration is Open
Full details regarding registration, logistics, services, and pricing are now available at Surf Clube de Sesimbra.
