The countdown to the 2023 ICF SUP World Championships held on 15-19 November 2023 in Pattaya, Thailand is on! With an impressive number of nations (44 and counting)  already signed up, the highly-stacked ICF Worlds event is certainly setting the scene for some exciting SUP action with the defending Champions and new talent all fired up to compete.

2023 ICF SUP World Championships Location: Pattaya, Thailand

Pattaya is a city in Thailand, a beach resort popular with tourists and expatriates. It is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about165 kilometers southeast of Bangkok within but not part of Bang-Lamung district in Chonburi province. Approximately drive 2 hours from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport, and 2.5 hours from Don-Mueang International Airport. Pattaya is a lively beach town that draws visitors from around the world. With activities that include a wide array of water sports, golf, shopping, cabaret shows, an elephant village, and fascinating museums, it’s impossible not to have an action-packed Pattaya holiday. Pattaya is certainly a Thai beach resort that meets the needs of any visitor on any budget.

Venue & courses for Technical and Long Distance Races

Jomtien Beach is located in the southern Pattaya area. The beach is the favorite destination for tourists from around the world, specifically for watersports activities. Furthermore, you can find plenty of seafood street vendors and restaurants alongside the beach. Jomtien Beach has got the honor of hosting so many sports in “World and Continental Level Championships” such as “The Jet Ski World Cup”, “SUP Thailand Championship”, and the latest “2ndAsian Canoe Ocean Racing Championships”

Venue & course for Sprint Races: The Royal Thai Navy Rowing and Canoeing Association of Thailand, Rayong

RCAT Training Centre, located at Ban-Chang, Rayong, and 35 Km (30 mins) from Jomtien Beach. The centre gathers all facilities for all kinds of rowing and canoeing activities. The competition venue dimensions are W = 100 m., L = 2,100 m., and D = 3.20 m.(average). It also has the Finish Tower, Athletes’ accommodation, Cafeteria, Gym, Medical room, Washroom, 3 Boathouse, and Navy Brew Coffee shop. The average temperature is around 28 – 33 Degree Celsius throughout the year.

Board Transportation between airports and official hotel
This convenient service is exclusively available to those who book official accommodation
through our website. The cost for board transportation is 20 euros per board. It’s important
to note that board transportation includes one trip each day. This service will be available
starting from 11th November, 2023. To use this service, email the Team at

purchasing airport transfer ticket.

Environmental Impact

The 2023 ICF SUP World Championships will be a 10X Climate Positive event.

ICF, RCAT and Starboard are working together to calculate the CO2 emissions from athlete
travel, fuel and electricity use during the event period. Once this carbon footprint has been
calculated, we will plant enough mangroves to offset these emissions ten times over.
