It looks like Halloween is pretty popular among stand up paddlers ! Hundreds of photos and videos were posted last week and yesterday, October 31, on the day of Halloween from SUP clubs and individual paddlers from all around the world.
Did you know Halloween comes from the contraction of “All Hallows’ evening” (Hallows = saints)? It is a celebration observed in many countries on October 31, on the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day, the time in a liturgical year dedicated to remembering the departed, including saints and martyrs.
Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, as well as watching horror films. Of course, all of the above is much more fun for us paddlers, if applied while standing on a stand-up paddleboard!
Check out the little spooky edit we did with some of the fun pictures and videos we found on Instagram over the weekend!
