The Malmö Ocean Race will bring elite and junior SUP athletes together to compete on 3-4 June in Malmö at a unique and challenging location set against a stunning backdrop of the Øresund Bridge connecting Sweden to Denmark.
Malmö Ocean Race: Disciplines
Distance on open ocean
The course runs along Limhamn, the beach of Sibbarp and under the magnificent Öresund Bridge with the distance of 4, 6 and 12 km
Beach Race (Part of Swedish Championships)
Start and finish on land. Hourglass shaped course with six bouys and mandatory beach run between the laps. Distance 3.5 km
Technical Sprint (Part of Swedish Championships)
Start and finish on land. A classic M-course with six bouys. One lap. Distance 700 meters
200 meter SUPersprint
Start and finish on land 100 meter straight ahead, turn around a bouy and then back in again
Malmö Ocean Race: Divisions
Open Class
If you are gathering points or if your goal is to be part of National Team this is your division. Here you will meet the best female and male racers in Sweden
Distance Race Touring Class
This is your division if you just have started to race, doesn´t race that often or if you have just started paddling
Youth Class
If you are up to 18 y/o and want to race, this is your class. In the youth class you will start together with the touring class
Master Class
If you are 40 years and older you can choose the between the masterclasses 40+ and 50+.
No young warriors here 😉 At the Technical Sprint and the Beach Race there is only three classes, Youth, Open or Master 40 +
Malmö Ocean Race: Ranking
Malmö Ocean Race is part of the Swedish SUP-race Series. The event is a two star event which gives double ranking points. The event also adds ranking points to your SUP World Ranking
National Team – The contest will count as a qualifier for the national team. You must participate in the elite class to qualify
