Welcome to the 2026 Trasimeno SUP Race organized by Canoa Club Perugia! Organised since 2014, the Trasimeno SUP Race has regularly attracted more than 100 paddlers and now takes a major step forward by becoming an international event under the aegis of the International Canoe Federation (ICF) and the Federazione Italiana Canoa Kayak (FICK). The 2026 edition adopts the official ICF format, featuring a 5 km inflatable race and FUN race on Saturday, followed by 10 km long distance race on Sunday. Held at Lake Trasimeno (between Florence and Rome) in front of Monte del Lago and Polvese Island, the race is part of the FICK Italian SUP Race Circuit and serves as a qualifier for the Italian team for the 2026 ICF SUP Worlds in Italy.

About Lake Trasimeno

Lake Trasimeno is the largest lake in peninsular Italy, with its surface area of 125 km² being only slightly smaller than that of Lake Como. Trasimeno lies at 257 meters above sea level, and its basin extends over 396 km², while the lake itself covers an area of about 125 km².

Its waters have a depth ranging from 3 to 6 meters, with an average of 4.7 meters, and a water renewal time of nearly 22 years. Surrounded on three sides by a hilly landscape, the vast expanse of Lake Trasimeno displays colors that vary from green to cerulean blue, with shores covered in dense reed beds.

There are three islands on the lake: Polvese, owned by the Provincial Administration of Perugia; Maggiore, which covers about 23.2 hectares and is permanently inhabited; and Minore, completely uninhabited and preserved intact over the centuries.
