The New York SUP Open will kick off in 2019 with World Tour Surfing and Pro-Am, Amateur and Entry Level Racing out at Long Beach, Long Island on August 31st. The build out of this unique beach festival during one of the US’ largest holiday weekends (Labor Day weekend) will provide an all inclusive weekend of fun and action for all the family, from newcomer to the sport to seasoned professional.
The Opening weekend will feature open and youth racing (6km, 3km and 1km courses), technical racing in the surf and a Charity downwind run in aid of Surf For All, to compliment the World Championship Tour Surfing Competition and an all new open SUP Longboard exhibition event. Outside of the competition, the APP demo pool will be in full force, as well as a host of social events, fun and entertainment for all the family.
This will then lead into Pro Racing component of the New York SUP Open, that will kick off with Sprint Racing out at Long Beach, NY, that will take place on September 5th from 10am. This will be followed by the spectacular and completely unique Long Distance Race around the Statue of Liberty Race that will allow participants to take in the City’s most dramatic landmarks and unmistakable Manhattan skyline and enjoy a fun filled Festival activation at Pier 25.
