The APP World Tour returns to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from the 16 – 21 December for this now iconic stop on Tour. The event will once again celebrate the World’s Best SUP Surf Athletes, crowning World Champions for performance surf and longboard disciplines for Men, Women and Youth. With on site registration and opening to take place on the 15th, competition will kick off bright and early on the 16th as we come into prime surf season for this beautiful spot found deep in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Gran Canaria Pro-Am features both regular SUP and longboard SUP formats for both Men and Women, together with Youth Championships to celebrate the future of the sport. The event has a dual venue approach that allows for ideal conditions for qualifier rounds and youth competition, as well as the longboard SUP component of the event at La Cicer, culminating in the main event at El Lloret, a World class point break where we have seen World Class conditions bless the Gran Canaria SUP Open year after year.
The beauty of the venue is that the two venues are just a few hundred metres apart, and are found at the west end of the Las Canteras waterfront that sits in front of the bustling City of Las Palmas, welcomes both ardent fans of the APP World Tour as well as newcomers to the sport to take in the action and watch the best of the best battle it out for the World Championship Crown.

In 2024, Taka Inoue from Japan and Luchy Cosoleto from Argentina took victory in the Performance SUP Surfing division, while Benoit Carpentier and Kaede Inoue took victory in the SUP Longboarding to take the respective World Titles for 2024. Meanwhile, in the U21 division, it was Enrique Perez Serra from Spain and Sakura Inoue from Japan who took victory to be crowned Junior World Champions at the heart of the beautiful city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
