Arenales del Sol Beach in Elche, Alicante, will host the 2nd Elche Paddle Festival on August 29–30, bringing together competition, grassroots sport, inclusion, sustainability, and activities for all audiences around Stand Up Paddle.
egistration is now open for the 2nd Elche Paddle Festival 2026, organized by Club Deportivo Alicante Playa Mar. The event will once again welcome athletes of all ages and abilities, with a strong focus on competition, participation, and the continued growth of Stand Up Paddle.
The festival is part of both the Regional League and National League, while also being open to international participation. A total of €4,000 in prize money will be awarded across the Sprint and Technical Race disciplines.
The weekend schedule will begin with accreditation and registration on Friday, August 28.
The sporting program will feature Sprint and Technical Race, with the latter adaptable to a Beach Race format depending on sea conditions.
Competition will be open to Open Elite, U18, Master, Grand Master, Kahuna, Rookie, and youth categories (U16, U14, U12, U10 and U8), creating opportunities for athletes of different ages and experience levels to compete and develop.
The event will also provide a valuable opportunity for visiting athletes to test themselves against the strong group of riders developed through the Alicante Playa Mar club’s youth and competitive program, making Elche an ideal stop for athletes looking to prepare for upcoming events on the calendar.
A particular effort is being made to make the festival as accessible as possible for athletes travelling from outside the region and from abroad.
Alicante–Elche Airport is located close to the event venue, and the organizers can assist with airport pick-ups and transfers. Equipment is also available for athletes who need it, meaning that in many cases competitors can travel without having to bring their own board!
For athletes planning to continue on to other competitions after Elche, the organizers can also help with board storage and onward transportation by transfer, making it easier to connect Elche with the next events on the circuit without the need to travel with equipment throughout the journey.
Alongside the racing, the festival will offer a full weekend of activities, including inclusive SUP, introductory sessions, a sports village, a commercial exhibition, music, a food area, family activities, and the awards ceremonies.
The goal is to create a welcoming environment where elite and amateur athletes, families, local riders, and international visitors can come together to enjoy the sport and share their passion for Stand Up Paddle.
With its combination of national and regional competition, €4,000 in prize money, international participation, strong local talent, and athlete-friendly travel and equipment logistics, the Elche Paddle Festival is set to become an increasingly important fixture on the SUP calendar.
