After a spectacular 1st edition in 2022, the foundations have been laid for an exciting future for this flagship Asian stop of the APP World Tour: from the unparalleled welcome, the World Class setting to the spectacular racing and the rapidly growing and engaged SUP Community in South Korea, the Busan SUP Open provides a truly unique experience for everyone.
True to the format of the APP World Tour, the Busan SUP Open will feature World Championship Tour, Pro-am, Open, Youth and entry level competition, but also demo opportunities for all, clinics and much more, coupled with live music and cultural entertainment. The event is family-friendly, with activities for children and adults of all ages to enjoy.
For the World Tour divisions for Men and Women, entry is open, although qualification rounds will provide entry for un-seeded athletes into the Main Event. However, if you are ready to take on the best in the world, the door is open.
In 2022, we saw Rai Taguchi sweep both Sprint and Distance wins in dramatic fashion, while Caroline Kuntzel‘s sprint prowess proved enough for her to take the overall. You can see the highlights and gallery from last year’s event below. As we look ahead to this year’s edition, we are anticipating big things from our athletes as the gauntlet as been thrown and the opening of the season saw some of the fiercest competition yet.
