Welcome to the 2026 Salaca 100!
Welcome to the 2026 SUP King Marathon – Salaca 100 in Latvia. Join 100s of participants, all Stand Up Paddlers, and paddle the legendary Salaca River over 100 km — or take on the new 44 km distance. From Lake Burtnieki to the Baltic Sea, this is an unforgettable endurance challenge!

A 100 km Challenge Beyond Limits
One hundred kilometers is more than a distance — it is a true test of physical and mental endurance. It challenges your strength, confronts your weaknesses, and builds character through perseverance. Are you ready to push your limits? The SUP King Marathon – Salaca 100 invites you to discover just how far you can go.

A River That Gives You Strength
One of Latvia’s most beautiful rivers, the Salaca, will carry you on this unforgettable journey. Over the course of 100 kilometers, you will experience the vast waters of Lake Burtnieki, impressive sandstone rock outcrops, and majestic forests lining the riverbanks. At the end of your adventure, the river rewards you with a breathtaking finish where the Salaca meets the Baltic Sea.

New in 2026! Choose Your Distance: 100 km or 44 km
Not sure about taking on the full 100 km? You can test your strength on the 44 km distance instead. Each distance has its own starting location, but all participants will share the same finish line and the same celebration. The finish and the official SUP party take place in Salacgrīva, where the Salaca flows into the Baltic Sea.

The 100 km Route
The 100 km race begins early in the morning on May 30 in Vecate, where the Salaca flows out of Lake Burtnieki. From there, the course winds through the forests and open landscapes of Northern Vidzeme, guiding you steadily toward the Baltic coast. At the finish line in Salacgrīva, cheering supporters await you — along with your well-earned marathon medal.

The Kings’ Settlements
Every 20–30 kilometers along the riverbanks, you will encounter the famous “Kings’ Settlements.” These unique checkpoints offer a warm welcome from the local “king,” a chance to refuel and recover, and a moment to rest before continuing downstream. Then it’s back on the board to enjoy the current and the next stretch of river.

Who Is This Marathon For?
This marathon is for anyone who lives an active lifestyle and is ready for a serious challenge. For some, the goal will be victory. For others, it will be crossing the finish line with friends. And for many, simply finishing within the time limit will be the ultimate achievement. But for everyone, it is a chance to prove something to themselves — and to proudly call themselves a true SUP King or Queen.
