The 2026 ICF SUP Junior International Cup taking place in Bascov, Romania, from June 19–21, 2026, is a premier event, sanctionned by the ICF, bringing the world’s best young SUP Racers together for a premier international showdown. Sanctioned by the International Canoe Federation, the event is exclusively dedicated to U14, U16, and U18 athletes, spotlighting the future of the sport on a world-class stage.

Racing takes place at the renowned Bascov–Budeasa Regatta Course, featuring elite infrastructure, calm protected waters, and nine competition lanes. Athletes will compete across Sprint (100m), Technical (800m), and Long Distance (up to 10km) disciplines, with a total €25,000 prize pool in cash and gifts up for grabs.

With free registration opening January 20, 2026, the countdown is on for an unforgettable weekend of high-level racing, youth energy, and international spirit — “Say Junior. Say Future.”

Venue Overview

The Bascov–Budeasa Regatta Course provides top-tier conditions for elite SUP racing, featuring nine adjustable competition lanes on calm, sheltered waters. The venue is equipped with a large finish tower and race control center, modern athlete facilities, and secure board storage.

Designed for both performance and comfort, the site also includes ample parking, dedicated spectator viewing areas, and fully integrated medical, media, and hospitality zones within the venue. Set amid forests, farmland, and rolling hills, the course offers a peaceful, focused natural setting ideal for high-level competition.

ALL EVENTS
Athletes are required to cover the distance as quickly as possible after the start command. Throughout the entire course, including all turns, athletes must respect their opponents and avoid collisions. Athletes causing collisions may face disqualification.

Please be aware that the race course and rules are subject to change based on safety and weather conditions.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Leash is mandatory for sprint and long distance races. Personal floating device (PFD) is optional for all races.

Situated in Argeș County, within the historic region of Muntenia, the neighboring communities of Pitești and Bascov represent one of Romania’s leading hubs for canoeing and water sports. Located only 110 km northwest of Bucharest, the area blends the peaceful scenery of the Argeș River Valley with well-developed infrastructure and welcoming hospitality services.

Often referred to as the “City of Flowers,” Pitești is framed by gentle hills, lush parks, and the serene Argeș River, creating an ideal environment for outdoor leisure. HOW TO REACH BASCOV

Delegations can access the venue by air, road, or rail.

By Plane – nearest airports:

  • Official Airport: Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP), 125 km from Pitești (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes via the A1 Motorway)

  • Alternative Airport: Sibiu International Airport (SBZ), 165 km away (around 2 hours 30 minutes by car)

By Car

  • Western Border (Hungary / Szeged) – 480 km

  • Southern Border (Bulgaria / Ruse) – 156 km

  • Eastern Border (Moldavia) – 350 km

By Train

  • Direct rail connections to the venue or via Bucharest (110 km)

Upon request, the HOC will arrange transfers to and from the airports and the Pitești railway station.
During the event, transportation between the official hotels and the competition site will be provided by the HOC through dedicated transport services for athletes and officials.

Local transport options will also be available for supporters, and taxis operate throughout the area.
