Welcome to the 2021 ICF SUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS taking place on Lake Balaton in Hungary from September 9 to September 12, 2021. Don’t miss the LIVE ACTION on www.facebook.com/totalsupofficial as our very own Mr TotalSUP (aka Mathieu Astier) is co-presenting the event.
ICF SUP WORLDS – Inflatable Race – 10K
The inflatable event is mainly for the less experienced and shorter distance competitions, but remember that the winner of the inflatable event will also be a world champion. There are no age group categories, only male and female races. The course is set on the Balatonfüred – Tihany – Balatonfüred route. The race will be in groups from the starting line parallel to the Tagore promenade.
ICF SUP WORLDS – Sprint Race – 200m
The sprint race will take place directly in front of the Tagore promenade, on a 200 m straight course marked out with buoys. In each heat, 8 to 12 competitors will start in a line, side by side. The competition will be organised on a qualification basis.
ICF SUP WORLDS – Technical Race – 1000m
The technical event is partly a speed event but mostly a skill event. Competitors have to go around a total of 7 zigzag buoys on a 1,000 m course. The course is marked out directly in front of the Tagore promenade. In each heat, 8 to 12 competitors will start in a line, side by side. The competition will be organised on a qualification basis.
ICF SUP WORLDS – Long distance Race – 18,5K
The long distance event is primarily about serious endurance and good tactical sense. Each age group competes on courses of different lengths. The courses will be marked out in the area bordered by Balatonfüred – Tihany – Gödrös. There are no heats for the long distance races, so all participants will compete in the final race. The entire field will start in a group from the start line parallel to the Tagore Promenade. Note that the 50+ division is doing the 10K course.
