Avila Beach, California – In this multi-angle footage, you can see two female kayakers who were enjoying the day among a group of humpback whales feeding when a bait ball surged next to their craft followed by a whale, wih its entire mouth open to eat them. The whale was as surprised as the kayakers to find a kayak with two people in the way.
Luckily, both kayakers were unharmed, despite the dangerous situation, as the whale released them as soon as it realized it was not just fish in its mouth. It is worth noting that a whale cannot swallow human beings because its throat is too small and narrow, hence the reason why it feeds only on small fish.
However, the situation could have been fatal given the strength of a humpback whale jaw.
