The Irish Surf Classic 2018 will be held this weekend (6, 7 & 8th April 2018). An iconic SUP Surf Competition for the SUP Surfers of Ireland and the UK, it was the first competition in Europe to hold a longboard SUP specific category and now is the 1st in Europe to have a sup foil category!
Held on the legendary Sligo coast, Ireland centred around Easky and Enniscrone, a coast where you can consistently bag big waves, clean waters and great surf!
The philosophy behind this event is for all SUP Surfers to come together and surf in a friendly fun environment, while enjoying catching up and having the craic!!
Categories will be as follows:
•Firstimers.
•Ladies.
•Sub 10ft.
•10ft and bigger.
•Masters
and for the 1st year ever a foil category!
Paul Byrne Irish Surf Classic organiser explained to TotalSUP “the competition will be professional as possible but will also have a fun for all element. Some competitors will be asked to help with judging over the weekend, and in the process gain some knowledge on competition surfing and scoring. A judges workshop will be held on the Friday night. Looking forward to seeing you all there, and fingers crossed we get conditions and international attendance similar to last year”.
