The Kauai Channel also called the Kaʻieʻie Waho Channel, separates the islands of Kauaʻi and Oʻahu, at a distance of 72 miles (116 km). Kaʻieʻie Waho means “Outer Kaʻieʻie,” named after the ʻieʻie vine
